Our story
Why I Am Building Bharat Sanjeevani
By Dr. Hitiksh Jain
I studied medicine because I wanted to treat patients.
I did an MBA afterwards because I kept running into a problem that no amount of clinical skill could fix: trust, standardisation and reliability in a fragmented healthcare market.
I often found myself becoming the person my patients relied on to guide them. They wanted to make their own decisions, but they did not always know how to navigate the intricacies of healthcare. They would ask me which treatment was best, which lab they should go to, which facility they could trust, or where they could get the right care at an affordable price.
I could help the patients who were near me or who knew me.
But what about the crores of Indians who do not have someone they trust to guide them?
I know my fellow doctors will continue to fulfil the most important need, which is treating patients. But healthcare is much bigger than treatment alone. Patients also need trustworthy information, reliable choices, transparent prices and genuine experiences.
This is the gap I want to fill. This is what I am good at. And this is why I am building Bharat Sanjeevani.
Bharat Sanjeevani starts with something simple: one place to find hospitals, labs, pharmacies, wellness centres, health camps, physiotherapists and other healthcare services, with real listed prices and a review system that allows people to review a facility only after a genuine visit or order.
That second part matters to me more than almost anything else on the platform.
Having sat on the clinical side, I have seen how easily reviews and ratings can be gamed in healthcare, and how much damage that can do to patients who take a five-star rating at face value when it was never earned.
I would rather launch with five real, verified listings and zero fake reviews than a thousand listings that cannot be trusted.
At the same time, the good healthcare providers deserve a platform where they can show patients the real value they bring to healthcare, how they care for their patients and the value they provide at an affordable price.
We are on day one
There are no thousands of listings live yet. I am personally calling and visiting hospitals, labs and other healthcare providers across Goa, verifying their pricing, capacity and basic information before a facility goes live.
It is slow, and it is meant to be.
I would rather do this the unglamorous way, one verified facility at a time, than launch with numbers that do not hold up to a second look.
If you run a hospital, lab, pharmacy, wellness centre, clinic or physiotherapy centre in Goa and want to be part of the first cohort of verified listings, or if you are a patient willing to tell me honestly what is broken about finding healthcare here, I would genuinely like to hear from you.
This only becomes what I want it to be with real people telling me where I have got it wrong.
Bharat Sanjeevani is just beginning.
